The History of Reiki
Reiki originated in Japan in the early 20th century, founded by Dr. Mikao Usui. Dr. Usui developed this practice after a spiritual awakening during a retreat on Mount Kurama, where he discovered the ability to channel universal life energy. He dedicated his life to teaching Reiki as a non-invasive, deeply healing modality that could be practiced by anyone with proper training. Since then, Reiki has grown into a worldwide practice, recognized for its ability to complement traditional medicine and enhance overall health.
How Reiki Works
